ABOUT OUR PHILANTHROPY

Arthritis

Alpha Omicron Pi’s international philanthropy is arthritis, and our philanthropy partner is the Arthritis Foundation. Since 1967, members and chapters have raised millions of dollars to fund research, provide resources, and support those affected by arthritis, a disease that disproportionately impacts women and also affects children.

AOII’s philanthropy dollars support several impactful Arthritis Foundation initiatives, including the Juvenile Arthritis Power Pack program, Juvenile Arthritis Camps, the Juvenile Arthritis Family Summit, and the 24/7 Helpline. Our Canadian sisters proudly support The Arthritis Society of Canada, furthering our shared mission to fight arthritis and improve lives.

OUR Local Efforts

We are proud to continue this legacy of service at Kappa Kappa! Here are a few ways we're making an impact in our community: Over the past year, Kappa Kappa has raised over $3,400 through our philanthropic efforts. Our chapter participates in events such as hosting our main philanthropy event Strike Out Arthritis in the spring to help support arthritis awareness and research. In addition to our support of arthritis, locally we support the AWAKEN foundation. We are able to raise money in support of Afghan women and children through education, healthcare, and vocational training.
